I just got off the phone with Josie. For those of you who don't know who Josie is, I wish you did! She is so funny and easy going and has been such a good friend to me over the years. But this phone call left me in complete anticipation for time to fly by so I can see her tomorrow!
See my BFF is prego. And she wants to surprise me and tell me the gender of her baby in a fun way! So now I have to wait until tomorrow!! The Chinese baby calendar I often reference says boy! So we shall see tomorrow!
Also, I may have spent two hours on pinterest last night. That site is so amazing, I love it! It has come in handy so much.
Example: Just last night I was painting my nails on the living room floor (which if you know me is NOT a good idea t o begin with...I am a spiller) but I wanted to watch TV while I painted. Low and behold there goes my bottle of paint right into the almost brand new carpet in our condo. I looked at Jon (who hates the spiller/stainmaker in me), throw a cotton swab over it and run to get my ipad where I KNOW I pinned a stain removing pin. BAM! A little hairspray, rubbing alcohol and water later and there is no pink polish left in that carpet! Now only if I had pintereest while living in our apartment when we first got married...

4th of July
I sure do love holidays! Our 4th was great. BBQ with fam and friends, an excellent carnival in which Jon won Kingston two stuffed animals and i saw tons of mullets which is always fun, and then a firework show! It was kind of weird watching fireworks while right behind us flames are burning up the mountain but I love the fourth! It always reminds me of how blessed I am to live where i do and have the life that I have. God bless America!!

It's official! I am on summer break. Not going to fib to ya, June was a rough month to be teaching. My kiddos were losin it! I mean they just wanted to play outside and act like seven year olds. We did alot of review games and playing outside.
When the last day finally came, I was totally ready! I have never gone through the last day of school before because last year I had Kingston before I could say bye to my class. But I found out I'm that emotional teacher. I had them sit in a big circle and we were about to play this game when I just lost it on them. I started crying! Which then made me laugh because most of them starting crying too! Then we all just laughed and played our game. I am so so glad that I am able to have a job that I love. I am so lucky.
Day one of summer has been great. I've cleaned, done laundry and even met up with the hubby for lunch. Now I'm about to attack the laundry room. It is in need of some hardcore organizing. I keep just throwing stuff in there but it has now gotten out of control. So I'm on it! I'll post a before and after picture when I'm done. :)
Until next time! Oh and some pics of course! Kingston with baby cousin Zander, him and I, swimmin with dad, and hanging out gettin some rays!

Lately
Well life just keeps rolling on! I have told myself to blog every night this week, but things like Kingston being covered in food all the time, or Jon wanting me to watch some weird basketball documentary has gotten in my way.
Anyway, two more weeks of school for me and those little deviled angels. I love my job I love my job I love my job. 11 days. I can do it!
Ally and Dan are married! Their wedding was perfect. They are currently gallivanting around Texas sleeping until 11am and eating tex mex, the best kind of mex!
I won May I when my parents were here!!!!
Kingston turned one! I have a toddler. He is getting so old it's weird. He laughs whenever I say no. He is my favorite.

Busy Bee
Well hello blog world! I've been so busy lately. As if I don't already have enough on my plate, I've decided to start up a little refinishing furniture business. A while back I was talking to the hubs about how much I love making hideous things beautiful. He has always been a supporter of my dreams (like how I refuse to quit teaching because I really HAVE to help those little cherubs) or simpler dreams like having to have an amaze balls nail polish collection. But he was a tad apprehensive about my latest dream so I showed him. I redid a side table, a desk and a coffee table. Took them up to a charming little nursery/shop in Fruit Heights and they sold in three days.
So now our garage is full of hideously beautiful garage sale finds waiting to get a second life!
What can I say? Just trying to make the world a more beautiful place one six year old reader and one beautiful piece of furniture at a time :)
Here are the completed projects over the last couple weeks. Im kinda bad at taking before pics but the ones that have two pics are before and afters I have finished a couple other things I didn't even take a picture of.
I also have my first legit client that I had never met before! The girl who owns the shop i have been consigning my pieces through referred him to me. He brought over a gorgeous dresser and I just finished it. I honestly didn't think it needed one thing changed but we wanted it more uniform. That's the last picture in the bunch.
Oh and happy mothers day! I will post baby k in his adorable shirt that he was wearing when he brought me breakfast in bed. Im pretty lucky.

Had To Say
Anyone who knows and loves me knows and loves that my singing voice is "sub par" at best. But I love to belt it out in the car, in the shower, getting ready and especially when I'm hanging out with baby K.
This post is to mark a very special day in mom and kingston world.
We had a full day of playing with friends at thanksgiving point's tulip festival and later seeing aunt Ally and Dan for a delicious dinner (it pays to marry a Latino.. Thank you Ally)...we were on our way home when Kingston lost his cool and wanted to cry instead of clap his hands or coo back to me as I talk to him like he understands. Usually in these rare instances I just grit my teeth and find my inner calm Meghan which lets be real, doesn't really exists but tonight I tried something different.
There is a song by My Brightest Diamond called I Have Never Loved Someone and i have been whisper singing it to Kingston since he was a little teeny baby. Tonight, to sooth his cries, I started singing this magical lullaby to him louder than I ever have before. He immediately stopped crying and in a span of one minute fell fast asleep.
I love being a mom. I love being Kingston's mom. I am so lucky.
So to all those haters and make funners of my singing (including that husband of mine): I don't care what you think. My baby loves my voice and that is all I need.
Sweet dreams!
